Playing (with) my old vinyl records

I dug out my very old record player today and decided to play some of my ancient vinyls that I have been storing for 30 plus years.  I was expecting to hear the sweet sound of a vinyl record spinning on a turntable playing the music that I love, but all I heard was scratches and skips.

Since I hate to throw anything away, I decided to go to Pinterest and see what everyone was making with their old vinyl records.  I can’t believe how many ideas I found, and now I have the bug.  I thought I would share a few of the things I made this morning….

I made other things also, but I need to explore drilling holes and polishing edges on vinyl first, my fingers are crossed that they don’t break.

Have you ever made anything from old records?

  1. I’ve never personally made anything, but saw a crafter at a sale a couple of weeks ago who had made bowls in three different sizes. I love the look of the martini glass – takes it to another level.
